The Manna Food Bank is run entirely by volunteers. If you’re willing and available to lend a hand, there are several ways you can volunteer for the Manna Food Bank.

Join a Manna Team

Commitment: three hours per shift.

The Food bank is open Tuesdays and Fridays weekly, and there are eight teams of four or five people on duty.

  • The pre-interviewer handles the initial paperwork.
  • The interviewer meets briefly with every client to discuss their current life situation.
  • Two or three packers assemble the designated food items. The food orders are unique to each client, based on preferences, family numbers and ages.

Volunteer during a special event such as a food drive.

Commitment: Usually a few hours, in accordance with the event. The largest food drive is the Fall Food Drive, organized by the Muskoka Oldtimers Hockey Club, which takes place ( in non -COVID times) on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year. And we sometimes organize special fundraising events and food drives.
