Volunteer
The Manna Food Bank is run entirely by volunteers. If you’re willing and available to lend a hand, there are several ways you can volunteer for the Manna Food Bank.
Join a Manna Team
Commitment: three hours per shift.
The Food bank is open Tuesdays and Fridays weekly, and there are eight teams of four or five people on duty.
- The pre-interviewer handles the initial paperwork.
- The interviewer meets briefly with every client to discuss their current life situation.
- Two or three packers assemble the designated food items. The food orders are unique to each client, based on preferences, family numbers and ages.

Volunteer during a special event such as a food drive.

Commitment: Usually a few hours, in accordance with the event. The largest food drive is the Fall Food Drive, originally organized by the Muskoka Oldtimers Hockey Club, which takes place on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year. And we sometimes organize special fundraising events and food drives.

Commitment: A few hours as needed.
Come out and lend a hand during a food drive and earn community service hours. It’s fun, and you’ll be glad you did. Contact us at info(at)mannafoodbank.ca to learn more.
Join our Board of Directors
Meeting Commitment: One meeting a month, usually the third Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
